After everyone was dressed and ready, it was time for the first look—and this is where the documentary filmmaker in me comes alive. I led Cal down a winding path through the trees toward the water, positioning him with his back to the trail. Then I went back to get Lucca.
Her bridesmaids and mom gave her the sweetest sendoff from her yurt—lots of tears, laughter, and those final adjustments to her dress that mothers and best friends insist on making. When Lucca started walking down that wooded path toward Cal, I could see the anticipation building with every step.

Lucca's close friend Tess from Florialia Design Studio created the most stunning floral arrangements surrounding the altar—warm autumn tones that complemented the natural setting perfectly. Having a close friend design your wedding florals adds such a personal, meaningful layer to the celebration, and you could feel that care and intention in every arrangement.
One of my favorite shots from the entire day came as Lucca walked down the aisle with her maid of honor. I positioned myself to capture the moment over Lucca's shoulder—Cal's face as he watched her approach, that massive, uncontainable smile, the lake and autumn landscape behind him. It's one of those images that tells the entire story in a single frame.
The ceremony itself was intimate and heartfelt, with Cal and Lucca surrounded by the people who matter most. The cake from A Slice of Eden was as beautiful as it was delicious, and as the evening transitioned from dinner to dancing, the energy shifted from elegant and emotional to pure, unbridled joy.

Now, here's where things got really fun. Cal's best man Robert told a story during his toast about a legendary night out involving Cal, Robert, and Seal's "Kiss From a Rose." I won't spoil the details (you had to be there), but let's just say that when that song came on during the dance floor portion of the evening, Cal and Robert delivered an absolutely show-stopping performance that had everyone doubled over with laughter.
